BPS Statistics of Sumba Barat Regency held a Mixed Method Evaluation Meeting. This event was attended by all employees of the BPS Statistics of Sumba Barat Regency.

The utilization of Big Data with Earth Observation (EO) technology for rice data calculations, initiated by BAPPENAS, BPS, BRIN, and KEMENTAN, aims to modernize the statistical business processes.

The mapping process using Mixed Method aims to:

1. Obtain a real depiction of the growth phases of rice in the field according to the satellite acquisition time period.

2. Validate that the Mixed Method model developed can reflect the conditions in the field.

Sumba Barat Regency is one of the areas used as an example for data collection in regional mapping by applying a Mixed Method approach. The target for data collection is set at 32 points across 2 different rice field locations.

The field activities of the Mixed Method in Sumba Barat have been progressing smoothly, both in terms of data collection and the results obtained.
